Gary Gabagool: Welcome back to Cam Girl Diaries. Today we’ve got Jessica Jade joining us, and right from the beginning, things are already going wrong.
Jessica Jade: That’s basically what my camera room is like. It’s just a complete fucking mess. Things are going wrong all the time. I’m definitely not one of those girls who just sits there doing nothing all day.
Gary: Before everything completely falls apart, where can people find you?
Jessica: I’m on Chaturbate most of the time. You can find me at Chaturbate.com/mjessicajade. I’ve been there for about four and a half years now, with a couple of breaks along the way.
How Jessica Jade Got Into Camming
Gary: So how did you actually get started?
Jessica: It happened completely randomly. I’m from Melbourne, Australia, and during COVID we were under some pretty extreme lockdowns. At one point, we weren’t allowed to travel more than five kilometers from our homes unless we were essential workers.
At the time, I worked in the healthcare industry. I was a state manager for a private healthcare company, and I’d actually been with that company for about 11 years.
The whole camming thing started just before COVID really took off. A couple of friends of ours, a gay couple, told us they’d been having sex on cam and people were watching them.
I was like, “What? People are actually paying to watch you have sex?”
I’d never even heard of webcam sites before. I was completely naive when it came to that side of the adult industry.
My husband and I went onto Cam4 that night just to see what it was all about. We stayed on for a couple of hours, and I thought it was hilarious. It was basically a chat room where people could interact with you, but they could also pay to see certain things.
I quickly realized that people seemed to like Miss Jessica Jade, so I started looking around at different sites, seeing where the traffic was, and eventually started camming by myself.
From there, it just went bang.
Winning Best BBW at the Australian Adult Industry Awards
Gary: You won Best BBW at the Australian Adult Industry Awards in 2024, right?
Jessica: I did! I won Best BBW in 2024, and I’ve got the award right here to prove it.
I’m actually really proud of that one.
Gary: And you’ve been nominated again?
Jessica: Yes. I’m really excited about it. There’s a new Cam Girl of the Year category this year, and I’m nominated for that as well as Best BBW again.
I’m also nominated for Best Online Content Creator, although I’m not really expecting to win that one because of the competition I’m up against. But everyone can vote for me anyway!
Gary: Absolutely. We’re putting the voting information in the description.
Jessica: You can vote once a day in both categories. So vote, vote, vote!
I’ve been telling absolutely everyone to vote for me. I’ll be out shopping, stopping at random places, talking to people and basically saying, “Mate, vote for me!”
Taking Promotion Offline
Gary: You’ve actually made me think about promoting yourself offline.
Jessica: Yes! I’ve been thinking about putting QR codes everywhere. I could go into a department store and put a QR code in the pockets of men’s clothing that links directly to my website.
Gary: That’s actually a great idea.
Jessica: Exactly. Why not? It’s basically the modern version of handing out flyers.
My website, MissJessicaJade.com, takes people to all of my links. So if I can get a QR code in front of people, there’s a chance somebody is going to scan it and become a fan.
Gary: You could even get people in different states to do flyer runs for you.
Jessica: Exactly! I could pay people to distribute them around Australia. I’m already thinking about it now.
Gary: And then there’s Google Ads.
Jessica: That’s something I’ve been thinking about too. If you can find really niche search terms, maybe they’re cheaper to advertise against.
Gary: That’s something worth researching.
Jessica: Definitely. If someone searches for something really specific, you want your name showing up.
Jessica’s Approach to Collaborations
Gary: You mentioned having some tech support in the background. He’s also appeared in some of your content, right?
Jessica: Yeah. He’ll occasionally get online with me, and there are some videos with him on my OnlyFans.
I’ve only collaborated with one other male performer. He’s not really a performer, though. He’s more camera-shy and it’s not his main thing.
He’s basically happy to help when I need him.
Gary: Sounds like he’s got a pretty good job.
Jessica: He does have a good job!
The problem is that sometimes he gets too distracted, so nothing gets done.
Gary: So he’s got to choose between tech support and everything else?
Jessica: Exactly. He’s got to multitask. This is a professional operation!
Gary: What’s the difference between working with an actual creator and working with your husband?
Jessica: It’s completely different.
When you’re collaborating with another creator, you both understand that you’re making content. You know when a camera angle needs to change, when you need to move, or when something in the environment needs adjusting.
When you’re working with your husband, sometimes it’s more like, “Mate, I don’t know what you’re doing. Just get it out there.”
Being an Independent Creator
Gary: Something on your profile caught my attention. You describe yourself as an independent creator with no management. Why is that important to you?
Jessica: I’ve had somebody look after my account in the past and it went really badly. They screwed me over.
I’m not saying every management company is bad. I actually know people who work for reputable management companies and do a really good job.
For me personally, though, I’m very connected to my brand.
When you’re on camera talking to fans constantly, those people know you. They’ve built a relationship with you. A lot of people who come to my OnlyFans already know me from camming.
I take that relationship seriously. I want what they’re getting from me to actually be genuine and actually be me.
When an Assistant Makes Sense
Jessica: The problem is that I’ve got a lot of messages on OnlyFans, and I’m terrible at administration.
I feel bad when I don’t respond, but I simply can’t answer hundreds of messages.
The only thing I’d consider doing is having an assistant for the administrative side, but I’d want to be completely transparent about it.
If someone is asking about a custom video or a pay-per-view, an assistant could handle the basic business side.
But if somebody is paying to talk to me personally, I want them to know whether they’re talking to me or someone else.
Gary: So you’d separate the business side from the personal side.
Jessica: Exactly.
If someone wants to know what custom content is available, that’s one thing. But when it comes to personal conversations, video calls, or anything where they’re specifically paying for my time, I think transparency is really important.
The Problem With Impersonation Scams
Jessica: I’ve also had a huge problem with people impersonating me online.
There have been Telegram groups pretending to be me and trying to scam people out of money using my photos and profile.
It’s incredibly frustrating.
Everything of mine is under Miss Jessica Jade. If people can’t find the account they’re looking for, they should go through MissJessJade.com because that links to all of my legitimate accounts.
Any other account claiming to be me should be treated with suspicion.
Gary: So Telegram has been a particularly big problem?
Jessica: Absolutely.
I’ve had fraudulent accounts using my profile picture and pretending to be me. There was one recently using a name similar to mine, posting in a group and telling people I was online and that they should DM.
I’m sitting there thinking, “Who the fuck is this?”
Gary: And your fans actually help catch some of these people?
Jessica: Yes. My fans will message me and say, “There’s someone pretending to be you.”
Sometimes they’ll even interact with the person to get information and then send it to me.
I’ve actually contacted people who were being scammed to let them know that they weren’t talking to me.
I don’t want people losing money because somebody is pretending to be me.
Why Consistent Branding Matters
Gary: This brings up something I think is really important for creators: branding.
Whether you’re an adult creator, YouTuber, Twitch streamer, whatever you are, if you can get the same username across all your platforms, grab it.
Jessica: Absolutely.
If you’re lucky enough to get the same handle everywhere, get it.
Having one name across every platform makes a huge difference because that’s your brand. That’s your identity.
I’ve been pretty lucky with that. Reddit was the one place where I didn’t get my name, and that ended up being a whole other situation.
Gary: But the bigger point is to make your name consistent.
Jessica: Exactly.
Whether it’s your real name or a stage name, if you can use the same thing everywhere and stick with it, people will remember you.
And that’s especially important when you’re dealing with impersonators. Your real fans will know what your legitimate accounts look like.
What Is Telegram?
Gary: I’m not very familiar with Telegram. What exactly is it?
Jessica: It’s basically a messaging service. It’s somewhat similar to Signal or other messaging platforms, and you can use a username instead of displaying your phone number.
There are different groups on Telegram. My group is basically a place where people can get notifications when I’m online.
I’ll post things like, “Hey, I’m online,” reminders about voting, links to my OnlyFans, and other updates.
It’s basically another way of keeping everyone together in one place.
Gary: So it’s kind of like an old-school AOL chat room?
Jessica: Kind of. Or maybe a Facebook group.
Gary: For us old people.
Jessica: Exactly!
Googling Yourself
Gary: Have you ever Googled yourself?
Jessica: Definitely!
I’ve searched my name and looked through Google Images, and there are hundreds of pages of me.
Sometimes I’ll find old videos of my cam shows and think, “Why would anybody want to watch this back?”
They’re not always particularly exciting.
The other day, for example, I was using my spinning wheel during a cam show. My camera was mirrored, because I need to see myself like I’m looking in a mirror.
Someone pointed out that everything was backwards.
I hadn’t even thought about it.
So basically, my entire cam session turned into me sitting there in lingerie, rewriting everything on my spinning wheel because it was backwards.
Gary: That’s actually pretty funny.
Jessica: That’s the kind of behind-the-scenes stuff people see with me.
What Jessica’s Cam Room Is Really Like
Jessica: My room is a little different.
I’m often doing private shows, and I’m generally pretty busy with those.
But I also talk. A lot.
I can sit there and talk until the cows come home.
Gary: You definitely seem like a talker.
Jessica: I am!
I’m not someone who’s just going to sit there doing the same thing constantly. If that’s the tip goal, then obviously I’ll do it. But most of the time, I’m talking, joking around and interacting with people.
Sometimes we’ll end up discussing completely random things.
Like why doesn’t Red Rooster smell like chicken?
Gary: Wait, what?
Jessica: Red Rooster is a restaurant that sells rotisserie chicken. You’d think the place would smell like chicken from a mile away.
But you walk inside and there’s barely any chicken smell.
Something’s going on there.
Gary: Now you’ve got me thinking about it.
Jessica: I’m going to get to the bottom of it one day.
AI, Grok and the “Unhinged” Mode
Jessica: Speaking of random things, have you used Grok?
Gary: No.
Jessica: It’s basically another AI chatbot, but it has different personalities and modes.
There’s an “Unhinged” 18+ mode.
Gary: Unhinged?
Jessica: Completely unhinged.
I asked it to tell me a story about having sex in public and it went absolutely insane.
Gary: So it’s basically an AI dirty storyteller?
Jessica: Pretty much.
There are different categories, including storytelling, meditation, conspiracies, motivation, romantic, argumentative, and several adult modes.
The unhinged one is ridiculous.
Gary: That could actually be useful if someone isn’t particularly creative and needs ideas.
Jessica: Exactly.
Sometimes people want you to come up with a fantasy or a story and you might not have anything particularly interesting to say.
The AI can give you something completely outrageous to work with.
AI and the Future of Adult Content
Gary: AI has advanced so quickly.
Jessica: It really has.
I’ve been amazed by how much it can do, especially with voices.
I recorded a sentence once and the AI was able to reproduce my voice incredibly accurately.
That’s scary because someone could potentially make you say things you never actually said.
Gary: That’s the dangerous side of it.
Jessica: Exactly.
There are so many benefits to AI, but there are also a lot of negatives.
The technology itself isn’t necessarily the problem. It’s what people do with it.
And honestly, I’m probably one of the people who uses it too much.
Sometimes I’m like, “I can’t think of this. I’ll just ask Gemini.”
Gary: We’re all becoming dependent on it.
Jessica: That’s what worries me.
It’s incredible technology, but if we’re not careful, we’re going to stop thinking for ourselves.
Jessica’s Main Platforms
Gary: What’s your main platform these days?
Jessica: Chaturbate and OnlyFans are really my two major platforms.
I’m getting close to 100,000 followers on Chaturbate, which is pretty exciting.
I’d also like to build my own website, but it’s really just a matter of finding the time.
I’ve got a lot of ideas for what I want to do with it, but I’m still figuring everything out.
The Surprise of Winning Her First Award
Gary: Let’s go back to the awards for a second.
You won Best BBW the first time you were ever nominated, right?
Jessica: Yes.
I’d never even been to one of those award shows before.
I was promoting the hell out of the voting. Every day it was basically, “Vote for me! Vote for me! Vote for me!”
I honestly didn’t think I was going to win.
When I went to the awards, I remember sitting at the table thinking, “There’s no chance I’m winning this.”
When they got to my category, I picked up my wine because I didn’t want to look miserable when I lost.
I figured I’d have a sip, smile and clap for whoever won.
Then they called my name.
I actually spat my wine back into my glass.
I was completely shocked.
I was like, “What? Is this me? Did I actually win?”
I genuinely had no idea.
Gary: That’s incredible.
Jessica: What made it even funnier was that nobody believed me afterward when I said I didn’t know I’d won.
Apparently, some people had been contacted beforehand to make sure they were attending.
Nobody contacted me.
I just showed up.
So it was a complete surprise.
Finding the Cam Model Community
Jessica: It was also my first time meeting so many people in the industry.
As a cam model, you’re often just at home in your own little bubble.
I’m not out working with huge porn studios or surrounded by people in the industry every day.
I’ve made friends with other cam models from around the world, mostly through social media.
There are also communities and resources that I wish I’d known about when I started.
For example, Amber Cutie has an incredible amount of information for cam models.
When I first started, I didn’t research anything.
It was literally just a random night where I went online, and then one thing led to another.
It wasn’t until a couple of years into camming that I started researching the industry and realizing just how much information was available.
There are so many people in the community who are willing to share what they’ve learned.
Gary: And there’s obviously competition too.
Jessica: Of course.
But I don’t think competition means you can’t respect each other.
As long as people respect one another, that’s what matters.
The Missing Award Footage
Gary: Do you actually have footage of the moment you won?
Jessica: Sort of.
Remember how I mentioned my husband isn’t the best at multitasking?
The person who was supposed to record me winning only got two clips.
One is me apparently getting onto the stage, and the other is me walking back.
That’s it.
Gary: No footage of the actual award?
Jessica: Nothing!
It’s some of the worst footage you’ve ever seen.
But I’m going to send it through because it’s hilarious.
Gary: So this year you’re hiring someone specifically to record it?
Jessica: Absolutely.
This time I’m getting someone whose only job is to record me winning.
Gary: And hopefully they don’t get distracted.
Jessica: Exactly.
They need to stay focused!
Wrapping Up
Gary: Jessica, thank you so much for coming on.
Jessica: Thank you! This was so much fun.
Gary: We’ll definitely have to do this again.
Jessica: Absolutely.
Gary: And don’t forget to check out Jessica Jade, follow her socials, and check out all of her legitimate links through her website.
Jessica: And vote!
Gary: Yes, vote!
Jessica: MJJ.vote. That’s all you need.
Gary: Thanks again, Jessica.
