Episode #66: Gary Gabagool & Heather OMGhBomb Safley
Gary Gabagool: So, Heather, OMGhBomb on Instagram, right?
Heather OMGhBomb Safley: Yes.
Gary: I’m sorry, I didn’t do any research. I just scrolled through your Instagram real quick because we were supposed to have another guest, but she had some stuff happen. We’ll figure it out later. It happens.
First off, what’s up with these really professional pictures you take on Instagram? They’re professional as hell.
Heather: I’m 39 and trying now. That’s what’s going on.
Gary: Holy shit. They’re really good.
Heather: Well, thanks, Gary. You and I go way back. I’m out here trying. Like I said, it’s all about that first impression for me. I like to be a scroll stopper when you see my stuff. I like for people to be like, “What’s up with that?” or “Fucking OMG,” or whatever. I’m an OMG type of gal. You know me.
Gary: Yeah. They’re fucking great, man. I was just thinking, I want to make wilder photos. Even more wild ones. But can you on Instagram?
Heather: Yeah, if you’re Britney Spears.
Gary: Yeah.
Heather: It’s just like YouTube. It’s just like any platform. The bigger you are, the more lenient they are with your shit.
Gary: Agreed.
Heather: It depends. It’s a lot of gray areas because some stuff they will take down of mine and I don’t really understand why. For instance, Britney Spears can go up and do a hand bra with nothing underneath. Now, if I do that, it’s a contention. So you tell me. I don’t get it. They make up their own rules.
Gary: So when stuff gets taken down, do you get a strike or anything?
Heather: Yeah. They’ll give you a little warning. If you go to your Account Status, it’ll tell you they removed it because it didn’t go with their guidelines. That’s usually the terminology they use because they can always refer back to their guidelines, which are vague and constantly updated.
They literally do make up the rules as they go.
Gary: That’s fun.
Heather: Yeah. I’ll log in and it’ll be like, “We removed your content.” Half the time, I don’t even really understand why because I’m not trying to break their guidelines, but they don’t really make them definitively clear.
Gary: Can you tell what it might be? Like maybe it’s because of this or that?
Heather: Oh, for sure. Now, I have friends that’ll go on and do twerking videos wearing just a thong. Come on. Instagram’s going to take that in a heartbeat. But if you just wear some booty shorts and give yourself a wedgie, they might not take it.
Gary: Yeah, it makes no sense.
Heather: It doesn’t make sense. But you can tell what you should and shouldn’t be doing because they make up the rules as they go. When they take your stuff down, you can kind of live and learn it.
They do give you a strike in some sense. I don’t know how many it takes. It’s not like a “three strikes and you’re out” deal, but if you get too many strikes, they’ll take your profile.
Gary: Nobody wants that.
Heather: No, they can take all things, too.
Gary: Have you ever had an appeal overturned?
Heather: I appeal every single one of them. Every single time. With just a shot, I might as well.
Gary: Do they ever overturn it?
Heather: Sometimes it works because I think a lot of times their AI catches stuff. Once they get an actual person’s eyes on it, they might be like, “Oh, that’s not so bad, actually.”
Gary: Yeah.
Heather: I do test the limits, Gary. I do. I test them because I want to know.
Gary: I want to know, too.
Heather: And why not? I mean, especially for what you do. You kind of have to.
Gary: You don’t have to, but why not?
Heather: Yeah. I’m not trying to get my profile taken or anything, but I’ll test it pretty hard. I walk on the edge. Maybe I even run on the edge sometimes.
Gary: You take chances.
Heather: Yeah.
Gary: It’s good to take chances. Why not?
Heather: I agree.
OnlyFans, Direct Sales & Building a Fan List
Gary: So what’s your main platform? OnlyFans, right?
Heather: Yes. I would say my main platform is OnlyFans.
Lately, a lot of my stuff has been direct sales from clients that I’ve built. I have their numbers, literally. People that have tipped me large amounts.
I was telling my boyfriend about this. I save everyone who has tipped me a large amount in my phone with a dollar sign next to their name. So now, when I search for the dollar sign, I’ve got a whole list.
I’ll just be like, “I’ve got new content.”
Gary: That’s interesting.
Heather: I used to use Snapchat for this because that’s the best platform to kind of mass-DM people and send out a slew of things to a bunch of your lists of contacts. But, granted, they device-ban you.
I do have a new Snapchat, but it requires me to use another device, which I’m just done with. I just get people on my direct line.
If I don’t want them to have my direct phone number, I’ll give them my free-text app phone number. It appears that it’s a real number.
Gary: Smart.
Heather: Yeah. That way I won’t get the notifications. I can always hide alerts from these creeps, but it’s fine.
Gary: Wait a minute. So you give your number to the people who tipped you large amounts?
Heather: Yes, I do. I want to keep up with those people.
Gary: Are they always hitting you up?
Heather: Nope. I’ll pretty much be clear. Unless you’re tipping, then… I’m a blunt person like that. They know not to hit up my direct line unless they have something.
They know I’m about my money.
Gary: I guess you have to be pretty blunt to do this, to give your number out.
Heather: Honestly, I do it because I know I can always block someone if they really get annoying. But these people, again, it’s going to be hard for me to block them with the amounts of money that they have or do send.
I don’t just give everybody my number, trust me. But it’s easier for me now lately with the Snapchat ban and all of that. That’s what I was using to communicate with people.
I’ll use that free-text app or I’ll use my real number for the cash cows.
Gary: Right.
Heather: Yeah. To do that, you have to be direct and blunt with them. You’ve got to fucking put them in place.
Gary: Yeah, because otherwise your phone would be dinging all day.
Heather: It would literally blow up.
Gary: So something like that isn’t for some submissive little… That’s not going to work.
Heather: No. They know the rules.
Gary: Wow. I’ve never heard that before. That’s so interesting.
Heather: I do things a little different. It’s what’s easy for me.
I’ve come so far. When we talked about a year ago, maybe my money-sign list was about a handful or two handfuls. Now I’ve got pages.
Gary: That’s fucking awesome.
Turning Connections Into Business
Heather: And then you can get into it, too. If I meet really good girls that maybe I want to mentor, or they can benefit me in some way, whether it be a collaboration or getting me some more exposure, I might even give or sell that list to them.
Gary: Right.
Heather: It’s a business. You’ve got to remember that.
Gary: Yeah. It’s a business. It’s nice to help people out and everything, but it is a business.
Heather: Yeah. I’m not just going to give people’s information away. But if I think it might benefit my buyers, too, they like to see new girls.
If it’s a good girl, someone who’s reliable and actually going to put in work, that’s different. Some of these girls just want a handout, and it’s like, no. You’ve got to put in work.
At least take some sexy photos. Entice them. The art of seduction, which is dying, by the way. You’ve got to play that card.
You can’t just use your recycled photos over and over and expect free handouts.
Gary: And again, it’s a lot of work.
Heather: I guess because I like it so much, I don’t consider it work.
Gary: Yeah, 100%.
Marketing Is the Real Work
Gary: Like I was telling someone the other day, with OnlyFans, everybody that comes to that page has been directed there by me somehow. Maybe somehow indirectly, but it stemmed from me sharing my link to someone or somewhere.
There’s no Explore feed on OnlyFans. Basically, everybody who’s been there is a direct result of me sharing that information, advertising it, or marketing it in some way.
That’s most of the work. That’s the bulk of it. Otherwise, you have nothing. You have no fan base.
Who are you posting for?
You’ve got to continuously do that.
Heather: Which reminds me, I need to put some more decals on my car. I just got a new car, and I always have my fans link on there just for shock value.
I get a lot of subscribers from doing that.
Gary: No shit?
Heather: People can’t believe I would actually have the balls to put that on my car. They’re like, “Let me go see what she’s about.”
I just got the car last week, so I have to get my other sticker.
I had another idea to share with the ladies. This is maybe something you can chop out, but I had a brilliant marketing idea.
Get some stickers with my link, or a little business card with my link, and go to a men’s coat or pants store and drop them in the pockets.
Gary: All of them?
Heather: All of them.
Gary: Oh, shit. That’s marketing genius.
Heather: I’m going to get stickers and put them on road signs.
Gary: I’m not recommending that to anybody. That’s illegal.
Heather: But I’m doing it.
Gary: Yeah.
Heather: And if there’s some way to track it, too, like a special link or some QR code where you can track it and see where they’re coming from, that would be super smart.
Gary: Yeah. Because then you can actually analyze that information.
Heather: I know. I sometimes do polls on my OnlyFans. I’ll ask, “Where did you find me?” and give them options like Twitter, Instagram, whatever.
But that’s just a general census. It’s not definitive.
If I had a QR code on that card, it would actually track it.
Gary: That’s smart, too.
Heather: It’s really important to know where your people are coming from so you can focus your energy on that.
Gary: That’s always been my downfall. I never ask questions.
Heather: Feedback is important. What’s actually working? What’s not?
Gary: I don’t know. For instance, the girl we were supposed to interview today said she was watching this podcast before she even started, and she got a lot of knowledge from you guys and all the stuff you were sharing.
Then she got into it, and it’s been a year.
My point is, I never ask questions. I should put it out there. “Where are you seeing the show? What are you watching it or listening to it on?”
Even with my Pervert Pete stuff, I never asked.
Heather: Ask questions. It’s fucking important.
Gary’s YouTube Plaque & The Pervert Pete Story
Heather: Have you done anything fun lately, Gary?
Gary: Fun? That’s what I do. I’m all about fun.
No, man. I don’t do anything fun. I’m fucking miserable.
Heather: You got your YouTube plaque!
Gary: Ah, yes.
Heather: I want to see that thing. Show me that thing!
Gary: I got this. This is an old one. I don’t know how many people have a YouTube plaque like this anymore. I don’t know if you can see it too well.
Heather: That’s dope! Oh my God, look at that!
Gary: Yeah. They sent that years ago for my Pervert Pete channel.
I mean, there’s a whole backstory to it.
Right when I hit 100,000 subscribers, I got to 107,000. I had to take everything down because of a court custody thing with my daughter.
Heather: Yeah, I get it. Certain content you don’t want to…
Gary: Exactly.
Then that got squashed, everything was fine, I went back to work, and then YouTube terminated me.
Heather: Yeah, I hate when people get deplatformed. But I’m glad you got that one back.
Gary: Like I was telling you, it was terminated for six years. Last month, I just happened to stumble upon my old email. I appealed it, and they gave it back.
Heather: See, people, always try to get your shit back because it can work.
Gary: You’ve got to fight for it, though. Don’t give up.
Heather: Wait, you got to put your plaque back, Gary.
Gary: All right. I need to look at it. Hopefully it doesn’t fall and break.
Heather: Thank you.
Gary: It’s old. Yeah, kind of cheap. The new ones are nice.
Darts, Tournaments & The Beach Bum Bonanza
Heather: This is my most prized plaque.
Gary: Is that surfing? It looks like that.
Heather: It was actually a dart tournament. It was called the Beach Bum Bonanza.
Everybody wanted this surfman trophy, and I got it for darts.
Gary: Yeah?
Heather: Yeah, it was fun. I’m actually a decent dart thrower.
Gary: Really?
Heather: Yeah.
Gary: It’s funny you say that. I just watched a video about cheating in darts. I was like, “How the fuck are you cheating at darts?”
Heather: How exactly?
Gary: It was pretty basic. If they get it really close to the line, they go and pull it, giving them the better points.
Heather: You wouldn’t be able to fool me with that shit. I’m looking at you and I have eagle eyes.
Gary: I don’t understand darts. I thought you just shoot at the middle.
Heather: Well, that’s the best one to hit, the bullseye.
Gary: Yeah.
Heather: But then it’s a whole strategy thing. There are a couple of different games.
Gary: Sure.
Heather: There’s Cricket and 01. Those are the main games people play.
Gary: I didn’t know there were different games.
Heather: Yeah. There’s leagues, championships, tournaments. People take it very seriously.
Gary: That’s what I used to like to play in. I would buy in so that when I won, I’d win everybody’s money that bought in.
Heather: Oh, shit. So you’re pretty good then?
Gary: Pretty good.
Heather: Mostly pretty?
Gary: Mostly pretty. But I can hit that bullseye, man.
Heather: And that’s what it comes down to.
Floating Bungalows & Creating Vacation Content
Gary: Speaking of bullseyes… no, I don’t got anything. I was excited. I thought that was going to be a good transition point. I was hoping when I said it, something would come to me.
Heather: It’s going to be all right.
Gary: Well, speaking of bullseyes, I’m actually going to some floating bungalows next week.
Heather: Floating bungalows?
Gary: I’m not kidding. They’re on water. It’s like a floating little house on the water. There are a bunch of them connected to each other.
Heather: Oh, no shit!
Gary: Yeah. It’s going to be fun.
I want to get a damn drone camera for this vacation because of the floating bungalows. There’s actually not a lot of footage of them. They’re pretty new and kind of first of their kind.
I’ve been looking for floating bungalows in the States and couldn’t find them until recently.
Heather: Where are they?
Gary: These ones are on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, called Chincoteague.
I want to get actual drone footage because there’s hardly any footage of the place online, and it looks gorgeous. I verified that it was real because it seemed too good to be true.
You see these types of places in the Maldives or Bora Bora, but they’ve got them right here.
Heather: That’s cool.
Gary: With a drone camera, what kind of content could you shoot with it?
Heather: I think I could be walking down the dock in a thong bikini or something and just have the drone creep up behind me.
Something kind of basic, but it would be filmed so well. A really zoomed-out shot, and then you come in on my ass or something.
Gary: Oh, hell yeah. That’s a great idea.
Heather: Just walking sassy down the dock slowly.
Gary: Right.
Heather: Imagine the sun setting behind me. It would look really cool.
Keeping OnlyFans Content Interesting
Gary: That’s a question I’ve been meaning to ask for I don’t know how long.
For your OnlyFans, do you post anything other than just… you know… your beaver out and shit?
Do you post funny stuff? Something like what you just described?
Heather: Yes.
I try to keep it artistic, honestly, Gary. I try to spice it up. I try not to continuously do the same thing, like always doing twerk videos or always having my beaver out or whatever.
I try to switch it up a notch. Do different scenery, maybe take a shot outside with a different pose, just something crazy.
Lately, too, I have a new boo, which is awesome, and we’ve been making some content together.
Gary: I don’t know if I can say that on YouTube.
Heather: Sorry. You might have to edit that out.
Gary: Fuck YouTube. We’re all about Spotify.
Heather: Exactly. Spotify is the shit.
Anyway, for my OnlyFans content, I do switch it up.
Lately, I’ve been making those tapes I mentioned. I don’t post the whole tape. I’ll sell it in a locked message.
What I will do is generate some sort of trailer, just a 15-to-30-second clip of it. I try to entice people and make them feel like they have to watch it.
That gets attached to the locked message. Then I’ll post it on my feed and say, “Be sure to check your DMs” for the new content.
Gary: Right.
Heather: We have one that I haven’t even released yet. I’ve already sold about $100 worth of it just yesterday by messaging that list of people with the dollar signs in my phone that I was telling you about.
Gary: And that’s through the locked messages?
Heather: Yeah. It’s a mass DM that you can send on OnlyFans to all your fans.
For instance, I have 150 fans right now. When I create a mass DM, I can send it to all of them at once, and then it’ll lock it so you can’t see the full video unless you buy it for whatever the price tag is.
Gary: Like $6.99 or $13.69?
Heather: Exactly. I try to do cute little prices like that.
They get to see the 15-to-30-second clip once I generate that preview, too. It’ll be attached to the message and also be on my feed.
They’ll get a little clip, but it’ll be so good that they’re just going to have to buy it.
Gary: Yeah. Make it Hollywood-style. Leave them wanting more.
Heather: You know what I mean?
Gary: Right. That’s the game.
OnlyFans Pricing & Subscriber Retention
Gary: Wait, so you have 150 fans?
Heather: I haven’t been paid yet. I have a price I’m locked in at right now.
If you subscribe as a new subscriber, you can get to my page for five bucks. It’s OMGhBomb, by the way, you guys.
But if you stay on for the next month and recurring months, it’s normally $13 a month.
Gary: So imagine all those 150 subscribers paying you five or thirteen dollars a month.
Heather: It’s not bad.
Gary: Plus the extra tips and the pay-per-view messages.
Heather: Exactly. The locked messages.
Gary: That’s pretty good.
Heather: I’m down some fans. I need to grow some more, but this exposure will help me.
Gary: Did you ever play with your prices and find something where you were like, “Oh shit, this is what works”?
Heather: Yeah. When I first started, I did some research, and the average price point for newcomers, new creators on OnlyFans, was about $9.99 or $10 a month.
That’s where I started.
I made sure I had a few pieces of content locked and loaded on my page, ready to go. Some clickbait, if you will.
Then, once I grew and started accumulating more and more content, I upped my price by a few bucks.
That’s what I’ve done, and I plan to continue doing that, going higher and higher.
Gary: Right.
Heather: Yeah, because like you said, your regulars are what’s most important.
Gary: Definitely. Retention right there.
OnlyFans vs. Fansly
Gary: Do you focus on any other platforms, or is it strictly OnlyFans?
Heather: I’ve dabbled with Fansly. I’ve actually made some decent money with Fansly.
They do have an Explore feed, which I love.
What I found with Fansly is that it’s highly saturated. There’s a lot of people on there with a ton of free pages, so getting someone to subscribe to your page is a challenge.
But they do have different tiers.
You can have a paid page with free segments on it. You don’t have to create a free page separately. You can post stuff that’s available for free, stuff that requires a subscription, and stuff with a price tag.
I like that aspect a lot. That’s why I’ve dabbled with it.
I haven’t had as much traction there as I do with OnlyFans, but I’ve got $12 sitting on there right now and it’s passive. I just checked it. I haven’t even been on it.
Gary: That’s nice passive income.
Heather: Yeah. I could do more with it, for sure.
But again, it’s not that it would be wasting my time. I just like to focus my time on where I know the money is coming in.
I have a steady flow on OnlyFans, so that’s where I focus.
I’m still on Fansly, though. I’m willing to accept new subscribers and fans. I try to post at least weekly on there so I stay active.
I’m just not as active as I am on OnlyFans because, again, I’m focusing my energy where I know it’s coming.
Gary: That’s important.
It could be different for other people who focus their energy on Fansly.
Heather: Exactly. I just make more tips and more money on OnlyFans.
Gary: Especially with the marketing and everything, you’re spending a lot of time doing it.
Heather: Probably because I’ve already invested so much time into it, too.
Maybe had I done that with Fansly, it would be different.
Don’t Spread Yourself Too Thin
Gary: My point is, if shit is working in one area, focus on that.
You’re already spending so much time doing OnlyFans, your life, marketing, all that. It can get overwhelming.
Heather: Yeah. That’s why I don’t understand how girls can do the paid page and the free page.
I’m like, “That’s so much.”
How about just a paid page? That’s how I see it.
Gary: You’re not knocking the girls who do two pages.
Heather: No, not at all. If it’s working for you, then of course you’re going to want to.
But I just don’t have time for that.
Gary: Right. If it’s working for you, good for you.
But if it’s not working, you might want to just cut that shit out of your schedule because it gets overwhelming.
Heather: Exactly.
Gary: That’s my problem. I do that shit, too. I’ve always done it and I still do it. I burn myself out, get pissed off, and then I quit.
I’m like, “Fuck it all.”
Heather: Yep. That’s exactly what I do, too.
I’ll look at it and get overwhelmed and think, “I really should have just done one thing at a time.”
Gary: Right.
Heather: Yeah. That’s how it is.
Where to Find Heather OMGhBomb
Gary: All right, so where can everyone find you again?
Heather: You can find me online on most platforms as OMGhBomb.
That’s OMGhBomb, you guys.
I’m most active on Instagram and OnlyFans.
Gary: All right. Awesome.
So we’ll definitely be doing this again. You’re definitely going to be hosting some shows, right?
Heather: You go hook it up. Let’s do it.
