Cam Girl Diaries Podcast Episode 90: Cutiepie Spanks

Host: Gary Gabagool
Guest: Cutiepie Spanks

Introduction

Gary: Welcome to the Cam Girl Diaries Podcast. I’m your host, Gary Gabagool. Today we have an XBIZ Award winner for Favorite New Creator and someone who’s in the Stripchat Hall of Fame: Cutiepie Spanks.

Cutiepie, thanks for being here, and thanks for putting up with the technical difficulties.

Cutiepie: It happens to the best of us.

Gary: First of all, you’re in the Stripchat Hall of Fame. I don’t like asking people’s ages, but how old are you?

Cutiepie: I’m 23.

Gary: Holy shit. You’re 23 and you’re already in the Hall of Fame?

Cutiepie: Yeah. I’ve been grinding since 2022.

Gary: So you were 19?

Cutiepie: Yeah, I was 19 going on 20.

Gary: In the cam world, that’s basically being a veteran at this point.

Cutiepie: Basically!

Getting Started in Camming

Gary: So how did you get started? Were you just 19 and thought, “Let me show my tits online and see what happens?”

Cutiepie: No, actually. My husband’s best friend and his wife were streaming on Chaturbate. I went to try it out and thought it was really fun. It was different, and I was having a good time with it.

At the time, I was a waitress and I was broke. I had just moved, so I was really just trying to make some extra money.

Then Chaturbate banned me for looking too young for their platform.

Gary: What?

Cutiepie: Yeah. It pissed me off because I don’t do anything to look youthful. I just look youthful, I guess.

They had verified my ID, too. They told me I couldn’t reapply for six months. They also kept all the tokens I’d earned.

Gary: That’s crazy. They had your ID. What more could you do?

Cutiepie: Exactly. I wasn’t wearing pigtails or doing anything to make myself look younger. I just happened to look young.

I was doing pretty well, too. I think I made around $500 that first week. Then suddenly they were like, “You’re done.” And they weren’t sending me the money I’d earned.

Gary: That’s what would really piss me off. You did the work and then they kept the money.

Cutiepie: Exactly. That’s what really irritated me.

Finding Stripchat

Gary: So what did you do after Chaturbate banned you?

Cutiepie: I went to Reddit, like anybody would do, and started Googling other cam platforms. That’s how I found Stripchat.

I started trying it out and I loved it. I liked the setup. It was organized, neat, and modern.

I still didn’t really know what I was doing. I had OBS set up wrong and my stream was cut off on the screen. It was something.

But I loved doing it.

I would get ready for work on stream and then get unready for work on stream. People seemed to enjoy seeing the behind-the-scenes life of a girl just living her life.

Gary: I’ve heard you do shower shows.

Cutiepie: I’ll do it all. Cleaning, showering, playing video games.

Gary: You have a Twitch, too, right?

Cutiepie: I have a Twitch, but I don’t really use it. It’s hard to take care of multiple things at once, so I mostly just do Stripchat.

I’ll prop my phone up to the side so people can see me, but they can also see my TV screen behind me. It’s basically like hanging out with a girl.

Gary: That’s smart.

The Unexpected Benefit of Getting Banned

Gary: Looking back, do you think getting banned from Chaturbate actually helped you?

Cutiepie: Definitely. If I hadn’t been banned from Chaturbate, I probably wouldn’t have tried Stripchat.

Gary: So the lesson is: screw Chaturbate, Stripchat all the way!

Cutiepie: Exactly!

Gary: It’s still crazy to me that they had your ID and banned you because you looked young.

Cutiepie: I’m probably one of the youngest-looking people on the site. You could probably find people who look younger than me.

I always wondered if somebody reported me. I was doing pretty well, so maybe somebody saw me doing well and reported me.

Gary: Unfortunately, there can be a lot of cattiness and competition in this industry.

Cutiepie: Yeah. But that’s not how I am. If I find a good product, a good tripod, or good lighting, I’ll tell everyone about it. I’ll say, “This is really good. You guys should try it.”

I like supporting other creators.

Competition Between Cam Models

Gary: That’s how it should be. Not everyone is going after the same audience.

Cutiepie: Exactly. Everyone has different personalities and different things that their viewers like.

I have multiple friends in the industry that I cheer for. They might be right next to me on the rankings, and I don’t care. As long as I’m able to pay my bills, that’s what really matters.

Gary: You’ve won an award, too. Did that change your career?

Cutiepie: I wouldn’t really say it changed my life. I didn’t suddenly get a huge amount of extra attention or anything.

It’s just a really cool achievement that I’m proud of.

Gary: But it’s still a serious accomplishment.

Cutiepie: Yeah. I was going against porn stars, too. I don’t do mainstream porn. I just cam.

I was thinking there was no way I was going to win. Then they called my name.

My feet were hurting so badly that night, but I ran to the stage. I was so excited.

Gary: I saw the footage. You were genuinely excited.

Cutiepie: I really was. It was amazing.

Winning the XBIZ Award

Gary: Favorite New Creator is a fan-voted award, right?

Cutiepie: Yes, the fans vote.

Gary: That’s what makes it meaningful. The people who actually support you are the ones deciding.

Cutiepie: Exactly. It shows creators that their fans’ votes matter.

Gary: Were you nominated for anything else?

Cutiepie: There were nominations happening again, and I was trying for Female Streamer of the Year. I was also going for MILF and Duo Streamer since I’m pregnant.

But the one I really wanted was Female Streamer of the Year because that’s what I do.

Gary: That’s basically the biggest category.

Cutiepie: Yeah. It would be really cool to be nominated.

My fans were telling me I was going to get it, but I never get my hopes up. There are so many people in this industry who work really hard and deserve recognition.

Cam Girl Success and Authenticity

Gary: You’ve been doing this for less than four years and you’ve already accomplished all of this.

Cutiepie: Sometimes I feel like I might not be sensual enough for people.

Gary: But that’s exactly what makes you successful. You don’t try to be something you’re not.

Cutiepie: That’s what I’ve learned. Maybe I’m not the most sensual person, but that’s me.

They don’t necessarily want all the acting. They want something real.

Gary: You keep it real.

Cutiepie: Yeah. I don’t freak out over every little tip.

If someone tips one token, I’m not going to start shaking my legs and acting like it changed my life.

Sometimes a guy will tip and ask if I felt it, and I’ll say, “Yeah, but I’m not going to freak out over one token.”

Gary: How powerful are those toys anyway?

Cutiepie: It depends on the level of the tip. The low levels are obviously less intense, while the higher levels get much stronger. There are also special vibrations people can tip for.

Gary: So the viewer is actually controlling the experience.

Cutiepie: Exactly. That’s part of the appeal of streaming.

Being Pregnant on Camera

Gary: You’re pregnant right now, right?

Cutiepie: I am.

Gary: How far along are you?

Cutiepie: I was 16 weeks at the time of the interview.

Gary: You’re starting to show.

Cutiepie: Yeah, I’ve got a little bit of a belly now.

People on my stream will still ask if I’m pregnant even though I’m in the pregnant category and literally have “Yes, I’m pregnant” in my topic.

Gary: So how have you incorporated your pregnancy into your streams?

Cutiepie: I don’t really act on my streams. What you see is what you get.

I like to describe my streams as a daily vlog. People get to see my life.

My regulars were really excited for me when I told them. They’re happy for me and they’re supporting me through this part of my life.

Then, of course, there are people who are specifically into the pregnancy kink.

Gary: So you’ve got both groups.

Cutiepie: Exactly. The people who have been supporting me are there because they like me for me. Then there are the people who are specifically attracted to the pregnancy aspect.

And you only get nine months of it, so you might as well make the most of it.

Gary: Do you think those viewers will stick around after the baby?

Cutiepie: Some probably will. Some might move on to the next pregnant creator. That’s just how that works.

But hopefully some stay because they like me.

Building a Personal Connection With Fans

Gary: You have some hardcore fans, too.

Cutiepie: I love my gooners. They’re so sweet.

Gary: How do you build those relationships?

Cutiepie: I talk to them. They find me through social media and my streams.

I do all my messaging myself. I don’t have somebody else pretending to be me.

You always get messages from studios saying they’ll handle your messages and increase engagement, but I don’t want that.

I think part of what people like about me is that I actually do everything myself. When they message me, they’re talking to me.

Gary: That’s important because fans can tell when they’re talking to someone who isn’t actually the creator.

Cutiepie: Exactly.

Why Personality Matters

Gary: Your fans aren’t just there because of what you show. They like your personality.

Cutiepie: Exactly. They like supporting me and supporting a girl who needs support.

Some people are lonely or introverted, and the internet can be an easier way for them to communicate.

They might want someone who’s attractive but also has a personality.

Gary: What’s better than hanging out with a hot girl who actually talks to you?

Cutiepie: Exactly.

I talk to everybody. Even if someone isn’t tipping me right now, they might win the lottery someday and remember who was nice to them.

Gary: That’s a good way to look at it.

Cutiepie: I think every token should be appreciated, whether it’s a huge tip or a small one.

Supporting Other Creators

Gary: You actually support other cam models, too.

Cutiepie: Yeah. I love supporting people in the industry.

When I started, I never imagined I’d be where I am now. I never thought I’d win an award or have almost a million followers on Stripchat.

So I like going around and supporting other creators who need that support.

We’re all streaming to help pay our bills. Life is expensive.

Thinking About the Future

Gary: You’re only 23. Do you think about the future and where you want to be?

Cutiepie: Honestly, it’s hard for me to think that far ahead.

I just want to make people happy. I’ve thought about starting a business based on what I’m doing now, something that could make money long term so I don’t have to stream forever.

But streaming is fun, so I don’t see myself leaving anytime soon.

Gary: That’s smart. You should diversify.

Cutiepie: I know. I keep all my apples in one basket, but I probably should put some apples into other baskets.

The problem is that I focus so hard on streaming because that’s where I have the most fun and where I make the most money.

Gary: That’s understandable, but there’s always the possibility that a platform changes its rules or terminates an account.

Cutiepie: That’s always a fear.

You never really know what could happen, so diversifying your income is important.

Stripchat vs. Other Platforms

Gary: We’ve seen other platforms change their rules a lot. OnlyFans has made some changes that creators have been talking about.

Cutiepie: I’ve heard about that. I never did OnlyFans, but I think some of the rules are strange.

At the same time, some of the biggest creators aren’t even posting explicit content. They might just post bikini pictures and still be extremely successful.

Gary: That’s what makes the industry interesting. Different creators can be successful using completely different strategies.

Some people show almost nothing publicly, while others use social media to show more.

Cutiepie: Exactly. Everyone has to find what works for them.

Collaborating With Other Creators

Gary: You also collaborate with other creators. One of them is Blazey Baby, right?

Cutiepie: Yeah. I love her. She’s my best friend on the site.

I met her through Stripchat, too. I never would have met her without the platform.

It’s really cool how the community can bring people together.

Before I got pregnant, I was a big-time stoner, and she was too, so our personalities really clicked. She’s such a sweet, fun-energy person.

Gary: Is she the only person you collaborate with?

Cutiepie: I used to collaborate with my old roommate, Moon_Babe. She’s really sweet, too.

She’s more private and doesn’t really have social media. She only streams on Stripchat occasionally.

Social Media and Instagram Bans

Gary: You had your Instagram account banned, too.

Cutiepie: Yeah. Somebody reported me.

I had a black lingerie piece on and I guess my nipples showed through it too much. It irritated me because you see so much worse on Instagram.

I was almost at 9,000 followers on my original account. Now I’m around 6,000 on the new one, so I’m building it back up.

Gary: Social media platforms can be frustrating.

Cutiepie: Definitely.

I’ve had posts removed even when I wasn’t doing anything explicit. One time I was wearing a shirt and taking a cute photo, and Instagram interpreted it as something related to escorting.

I don’t even do meets.

They also restricted my reach, but it’s fine. The people who find me are my supporters anyway.

Where Fans Find Her

Gary: Where do most of your followers find you?

Cutiepie: Probably Stripchat and Twitter, but mostly Stripchat.

They’ll find me on Stripchat, then follow me on Twitter to keep up with what I’m doing.

Gary: So social media is useful, but you don’t necessarily depend on it.

Cutiepie: Exactly.

When I first started, Twitter was a good way to bring people to my Stripchat page. Certain hashtags helped bring people in.

The Stripchat Referral Program

Gary: You also have a referral program, right?

Cutiepie: Yes. Stripchat shows you your referral statistics.

I’ve referred hundreds of models and users.

Gary: How does the referral program work?

Cutiepie: You can invite models and users. When users buy tokens, you receive a percentage of what they spend. So if someone you referred spends money on the site, you can earn from that referral.

Gary: That’s actually a pretty interesting additional revenue stream.

Cutiepie: Yeah. I love statistics, too.

Gary: That’s how you learn what works. If you know where your viewers are coming from, you can figure out what to focus on instead of just guessing.

Cutiepie: Exactly.

Porn Advertising and Discoverability

Gary: You also get traffic from porn advertising sometimes, right?

Cutiepie: Yeah. Sometimes I’ll appear in advertising on porn sites.

Sometimes I’m doing something more explicit, but other times I’m literally just lying on my bed talking.

Gary: That’s what I like about your approach. You’re not only selling the sexual side. You’re selling your personality and your life.

Cutiepie: Exactly. I’m just having fun and showing my tits on the side.

Gary: Some people just want a quick show, but other people want to hang out and get to know the person.

Cutiepie: Exactly. Some people want somebody real to talk to.

Tip Reactions and Authenticity

Gary: Do you think viewers appreciate that you’re not constantly putting on an act?

Cutiepie: Definitely.

I don’t want to pretend to react to every little thing. If someone tips one token, I’m not going to act like it’s the biggest thing that’s ever happened.

If you’re using a toy, people can tip at different levels and control the intensity. If someone tips at the highest levels, obviously that’s going to get a stronger reaction.

Gary: That makes sense.

Cutiepie: It’s about being real.

The Stripchat Hall of Fame

Gary: You’ve been in the Stripchat Hall of Fame for several years now.

Cutiepie: Yeah. I’ve been in the Hall of Fame for about three years consecutively.

Last year was my best year. I was in the top 20 models across all regions.

Gary: That’s huge.

Cutiepie: This year I’m around number 40-something. I haven’t been going as hard because I moved and had a lot going on.

But we’re still in the Hall of Fame!

Gary: That’s the important part.

You’re proof that what you’re doing works.

Cutiepie: It works for me. But I wouldn’t tell everyone to copy me exactly.

Everyone has different personalities. You have to find your own thing.

Don’t Copy Other Creators

Gary: So what advice would you give someone who wants to follow your path?

Cutiepie: Learn from other people, but don’t copy them exactly.

It’s important to see what successful creators are doing and figure out what you can learn from them.

But you have to make it your own.

Don’t copy someone’s tip menu word-for-word or try to become another creator. Take inspiration from what works and figure out how to use it for yourself.

Gary: So basically: inspiration, not imitation.

Cutiepie: Exactly.

Gary: Inspiration for the masturbation.

Cutiepie: That’s a quote right there!

Gary: Put it on a shirt!

Entertaining Yourself on Stream

Gary: Before you go live, do you do anything to hype yourself up?

Cutiepie: Sometimes I’ll tell people in my group chats that I’m getting online.

But most of the time, I just chill. I’ll listen to music or do things that keep me entertained while I wait for people to come in.

One of the most important things I’ve learned is not to rely on the users to entertain me.

You have to entertain yourself.

If you’re bored, they’re going to be bored.

Gary: That’s actually great advice.

Cutiepie: Exactly. If I’m having fun, they’re more likely to have fun.

What Happens on a Slow Day?

Gary: Do you stream every day?

Cutiepie: Most of the time. Unless I’m not feeling well or I’m really tired, I usually stream every day.

Sometimes I’ll stream from my car after a doctor’s appointment just to change the environment.

You don’t want everything to look exactly the same all the time.

Gary: What does a bad day look like for you?

Cutiepie: I’d say a slow day is when nobody’s really talking or tipping.

I still make more than I used to make serving, so I can’t really say any day is terrible.

But I’d consider anything under about 5,000 tokens to be a slower day.

A really good day might be 10,000 to 20,000 tokens.

Gary: And 10,000 tokens is about $500?

Cutiepie: Yes, and 20,000 would be about $1,000 before taxes and other expenses.

Taxes and Running a Cam Business

Gary: We’ve never really talked about taxes before. How does that work for cam models?

Cutiepie: You have to treat it like a business because you’re basically self-employed.

I don’t want to get audited, so I’m very careful about reporting my income.

Gary: So Stripchat doesn’t just send you a W-2?

Cutiepie: No. You have to keep track of your own income.

Gary: Do you keep track of your expenses, too?

Cutiepie: Yes. I’ve done research about what can potentially be written off, and I also have a professional tax person who understands what I do.

I’m not going to H&R Block. I want someone who actually understands self-employment and my type of business.

Gary: What kinds of expenses have you looked into?

Cutiepie: Things like nails, hair, and certain trips if they’re genuinely related to creating content.

But I keep track of everything and work with a professional.

Gary: That’s probably the smartest way to do it.

Cutiepie: Yeah. I’ve been trying to keep up with receipts and records because it’s hard to run a small business.

Diversifying Income

Gary: So most of your income comes from Stripchat?

Cutiepie: Yes. I really only do Stripchat.

I have other things, like my Throne wishlist, but that’s different. People can send gifts through that.

Gary: So you don’t really use OnlyFans or multiple cam platforms?

Cutiepie: No. Stripchat is basically my main thing.

Gary: Which makes diversification even more important.

Cutiepie: Definitely. That’s always in the back of my mind.

The Stripchat Fan Club

Gary: You also have a Stripchat Fan Club, right?

Cutiepie: Yes. Stripchat has a Fan Club that’s basically similar to an OnlyFans-style subscription.

I have more than 590 members in my Fan Club.

For the month we were talking about, I’d made around 71,000 tokens from the Fan Club alone.

Gary: That’s a significant additional income stream.

Cutiepie: Yeah. I offer different levels.

Regular members get access to my videos and can spy on privates for free.

My higher-level members get additional perks, like gaming with me. I’m a gamer, so sometimes we’ll play Fortnite, Call of Duty, or other games together.

Another level gives members additional access and lets them control my toy for a certain amount of time.

Gary: So you’re giving people different reasons to join depending on what they’re interested in.

Cutiepie: Exactly.

Gaming and Community

Gary: You also have a Telegram group, right?

Cutiepie: Yes. It’s an actual group chat, not a subscription group.

I have almost 2,000 people in there.

Gary: That’s a huge community.

Cutiepie: I know. My gooners are amazing.

Gary: You’ve definitely built a community around yourself.

Cutiepie: Yeah, and I love them.

Reaching Nearly One Million Favorites

Gary: You mentioned earlier that you’re approaching one million favorites on Stripchat.

Cutiepie: Yeah. I’m sitting at around 973,000 favorites.

Gary: You’re so close to one million.

Cutiepie: I know. I think I might hit a million this year. Who knows?

Gary: You’ve got plenty of time.

Cutiepie: I’m crossing my fingers, but I never get my hopes up too much. That’s how you get disappointed.

Gary: Still, considering how quickly you’ve built everything, that’s incredible.

Why She Keeps Streaming

Gary: You clearly work hard. You aren’t just sitting there waiting for something to happen.

Cutiepie: Exactly.

If it’s slow, I’ll do something. I’ll clean, vacuum, organize, whatever.

People might watch because they see me doing something interesting.

Gary: That’s a great point. If you’re working a regular job and you have time to lean, you have time to clean.

Cutiepie: Exactly.

I used to be a waitress, so I think about streaming the same way. When I was working at Olive Garden, I never stopped working.

Gary: And now you’re streaming full time.

Cutiepie: Yeah. I stopped waitressing when I got pregnant and went full time with Stripchat.

That’s when things really started getting serious.

Don’t Sit on Your Phone

Gary: What do you think creators should do when their room is slow?

Cutiepie: Don’t just sit there staring at your phone.

If you’re not paying attention to your stream, why should viewers pay attention to you?

Do something. Clean your room. Play a game. Talk to people. Find something that keeps you entertained.

Gary: That’s probably one of the biggest lessons from this whole conversation.

Cutiepie: Yeah. Entertain yourself first.

How She Approaches Her Content

Gary: So ultimately, what you’re doing is giving people access to your actual life.

Cutiepie: Exactly.

I don’t really act. It’s basically a live blog that I can’t edit.

If I’m going to the doctor, I’ll talk about my doctor’s appointment. If I’m getting ready for work, I’ll stream that.

It’s just my life.

Gary: And that’s what makes people feel connected to you.

Cutiepie: Exactly. They get to know me.

Collaborating With Her Husband

Gary: Before we finish, I wanted to talk about your husband.

You stream with him occasionally?

Cutiepie: Yes. We make content together sometimes, including videos for my Fan Club.

We’ve also done three-way content with my old roommate, and that was really popular.

Gary: So are you mostly a solo streamer?

Cutiepie: Yes. I’m primarily a solo streamer.

That’s actually part of why I’m in the Hall of Fame. There are different categories for solo and couple streams.

Gary: How does it work when your husband joins you?

Cutiepie: You can’t just have someone jump into your stream anymore.

Stripchat has verification requirements for anyone appearing on a stream. You have to make sure everyone is verified and of legal age.

If we’re streaming together, we have to use the couple-stream setup.

Gary: That makes sense.

Cutiepie: Yeah. They changed the system because people were abusing it.

The Fan Club and POV Content

Gary: You also make POV content?

Cutiepie: Yes. I use glasses sometimes because they’re good for POV videos.

Those videos go on my Fan Club.

Gary: And people really like that?

Cutiepie: Yeah, it’s been good.

Advice for New Cam Models

Gary: If somebody is just starting out, what would you tell them?

Cutiepie: Be yourself.

Look at what other successful creators are doing and learn from them, but don’t copy them.

Try things. Find what makes you different.

And most importantly, don’t depend on your viewers to entertain you.

Entertain yourself.

If you’re having fun, your viewers are much more likely to have fun.

Gary: And don’t be afraid to interact with people even if they’re not tipping.

Cutiepie: Exactly.

You never know who might become a regular later.

The Importance of Personality

Gary: I think the biggest thing I’ve learned from talking to so many cam creators is that personality matters.

Cutiepie: It really does.

If you want people to stick around for you and become long-term supporters, you have to give them something beyond a quick show.

You can’t fake having a personality.

Gary: That’s the thing. You can act, but if you’re constantly acting, people can tell.

Cutiepie: And acting is exhausting.

I’m not good at acting anyway. I just keep it real.

Gary: That’s why this conversation works. You’re just talking to me like a normal person.

Cutiepie: Exactly.

Final Thoughts

Gary: Before we wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to say to the cam girls and creators watching?

Cutiepie: Just be yourself.

Learn from other people, but don’t copy them.

Find what works for you and have fun with it.

Gary: That’s probably the perfect place to end.

Cutiepie, thank you so much for doing this and for putting up with all the technical difficulties.

Cutiepie: Thank you. It’s been a pleasure.

Gary: And everyone, go follow Cutiepie Spanks. Her Twitter and Instagram links are on screen and in the description.

If you’re a creator, check out what she’s doing. Don’t copy her exactly, but learn from her.

Cutiepie: Exactly.

Gary: And if you’re one of her gooners, you know where to find her.
