Losing Her X Account

So I went through the rules trying to figure it out.

You can post your own content, but be careful with referral links, sales links, Stripchat links, and anything that looks spammy.

X seems to be cracking down on that stuff.

Alessa: Yeah. I think that’s what happened to me.

I also realized my bio wasn’t very good and I had a business link in it. Then I kept posting my Stripchat link.

So I’m pretty sure that combination did it.

Gary Gabagool: That’s the problem with social media. You can spend all this time building an account and then somebody changes the rules and you’re fucked.

That’s why I’ve made everything private now. I’ll accept everybody as friends, but I’m not keeping everything public anymore.

I don’t know what the next rules are going to be, and I’m not going to build everything up again just to have it disappear.

Bitcoin, Credit Cards and the Adult Industry

Gary Gabagool: Another thing that keeps coming up is payment processing.

I lost over a thousand dollars trying to figure out Bitcoin.

How Alessa Got Into Camming

Gary Gabagool: So you weren’t always a cam model.

What were you doing before this?

Alessa: Before camming, I worked at a bank.

Before that, I worked in pharmaceuticals as a territory manager.

Then I got really sick and was lying in bed broke, thinking, “What the fuck am I going to do?”

It was around the anniversary of my baby daddy’s death, and I basically said, “Fuck it. I’m going to sell my pussy.”

And here we are.

Gary Gabagool: That’s one way to make a career change.

Alessa: Definitely.

I started on OnlyFans in November 2024.

Then I realized something pretty quickly.

I’m not an actress.

I don’t mind being paid to be told what to do, but content creation wasn’t really for me. If I’m not enjoying what I’m creating, it’s not very good.

So I tried camming.

At first, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.

I didn’t even know there was a Top 1,000.

I only learned about that much later.

I would just log on and say, “Hey, come play with me.”

Now I pay attention to the numbers and what’s happening, and things are moving.

I ended last year in the Top 300 even though I barely put my ass in gear.

Now I’m trying to make it into the Top 100.

Alessa: Even the Reddit game is insane.

OnlyFans is mostly your traffic, right?

Gary Gabagool: Reddit is a whole rabbit hole.

And that’s why I like having resources available now.

When I first started researching this a few years ago, there wasn’t nearly as much information.

Now there are so many how-to guides and resources.

I’m also getting curious about things like soft domination. I don’t mind being a slut, but I’m kind of getting bored with that and want to be bossy now.

Gary Gabagool: So what resources have you found useful?

Alessa: Creator Spicy Tea has some really good information.

She has her own website and she’s worked out the Reddit algorithm. I call her guide the Reddit Bible.

It’s packed with information if you’re willing to put in the work.

I also found The Rich Girl Hotline and some other podcasts.

And honestly, I found Cam Girl Diaries by searching Spotify for cam girl and sex work podcasts.

I like podcasts because I don’t have time to sit down and read everything.

I can put something in my ear and listen while I’m doing other stuff around the house.

Gary Gabagool: I like putting things in your ear too, but we’ll talk about that later.

Starting Out With OnlyFans and Reddit

Gary Gabagool: What kind of content were you making when you started?

Alessa: Very vanilla stuff.

Mostly just my tits.

I was super shy.

Before I go camming, I still break out in a whole sweat. I don’t know if I’m going to puke or what’s going to happen.

I started with OnlyFans and Reddit.

Eventually I got sick of OnlyFans because there were so many people trying to scam me or advertise to me.

I tried a couple of services that were supposed to help, but I’m pretty sure they were scams.

Then I got tired of constantly making videos.

That’s when I started experimenting with whispering.

Alessa: Another place I’ve found really useful is RedGIFs.

Gary Gabagool: RedGIFs?

Alessa: Yeah.

You can post clips, and I’ve gotten a lot of clients from there.

Gary Gabagool: I didn’t realize people were using it that way.

Alessa: Yeah. Some creators have hundreds of millions of views and hundreds of thousands of followers.

I think I’ve gotten around three million views.

Gary Gabagool: What do you do on there?

Alessa: I show more there because I’m trying to bring people over to my main platform.

I put my Stripchat username there, and when I hustle through RedGIFs, I see a huge traffic boost.

Gary Gabagool: That’s something I’m definitely going to have to look into.

Stripchat, Chaturbate and Multistreaming

Gary Gabagool: What’s your main platform right now?

Alessa: Stripchat.

Gary Gabagool: Everyone seems to be talking about Stripchat right now.

Alessa: I’ve been paying attention to Chaturbate, too.

I’ve thought about multistreaming, but I’ve spoiled my Stripchat audience.

When I try to multistream, people are like, “What are you doing? Why aren’t you paying attention to me?”

Gary Gabagool: That makes sense.

Alessa: Exactly.

Some sites also put you in spy mode if another site is moving more.

Then the viewer has to pay to watch what you’re doing.

For someone who’s trying to spend the whole day interacting with you, that can be frustrating.

So for now, I’m probably going to keep Stripchat the way it is.

I also have another Stripchat account for boy-girl content called Cock Bunny.

People are always asking me if I’m a snow bunny.

I thought they were talking about drugs.

Then they explained what they meant.

I’d rather get to the point and play.

That’s why I respect the girls who can stay online for six hours and keep hustling.

That’s a skill.

Consistency Is Everything

Gary Gabagool: You’re about to go from part-time to full-time, right?

Alessa: Yes.

I’m really going to test that consistency.

I also think there may be an algorithm component involving the time you stream.

If you start at 10 a.m., maybe you should start at 10 a.m. most of the time.

Gary Gabagool: That’s a given.

Consistency is important for everything.

Podcasts, YouTube, camming. It all comes down to consistency.

Alessa: Exactly.

I’ve noticed that when I’m consistent, I make a lot more money.

I used to go online every day, but my schedule was completely random.

I’d be on at 10 in the morning one day, 3 in the morning another day, and 1 in the afternoon another day.

Being online every day isn’t necessarily enough.

You need some kind of predictable schedule.

If you’re going to be on at 1 p.m., maybe you should be on at 1 p.m. four days a week.

Gary Gabagool: Exactly.

Everybody’s schedule is different, but you need to find some kind of consistency that works for you.

Alessa: I’m experimenting with that right now.

I used to stream mostly early in the morning, and now I’m trying afternoon and evening hours.

But when I switch times, nobody knows where I am.

So I still have to maintain some of my old hours while I build a new audience in the new time slot.

The Importance of Experimenting

Gary Gabagool: You’re still in the experimental stage.

You have to experiment.

There eventually comes a point where you have such a strong fan base that it doesn’t matter as much what time you go online.

But most cam girls, even successful ones, are still experimenting.

They’re trying to find the right schedule, the right content, and the right strategy.

Alessa: That’s what I’m learning.

I really wish I’d taken better notes when I first started.

I had a really good run in October, November, and December.

That’s when I wish I’d documented exactly what I was doing.

Then I had to take some time off, and everything changed.

Gary Gabagool: That’s why you need to keep notes.

Alessa: Definitely.

Learning From Other Creators

Gary Gabagool: You mentioned researching soft domination.

Alessa: Yeah.

I’m always looking for something new to learn.

I’m not saying I know everything.

I think that’s one of the most important things about camming.

You have to keep learning.

There are always people who know more than you do.

Gary Gabagool: Exactly.

If you want to succeed in this business, you have to treat it like a business.

You wouldn’t walk into pharmaceuticals or banking without learning how the industry works.

Camming is no different.

And there are so many more resources now than there were when I started researching this.

That’s one of the reasons I like podcasts.

You can learn while you’re doing other things.

Alessa: I built it myself.

I’m actually really proud of it.

Gary Gabagool: And you made it through Canva?

Alessa: Yeah.

I use Canva for the little advertisements I make, like “See you tonight” posts and things like that.

The website itself is simple.

Gary Gabagool: And that’s what I like about it.

If somebody hears you on the podcast and wants to learn more about you, they can type your name into Google and find your website.

Everything is right there.

Alessa: Exactly.

And the links take people to my Linktree.

I’m not a huge technology person.

I didn’t even have a computer until I started doing this.

Building a Persona With Words

Gary Gabagool: One of the things I really like about your website is your writing.

You’ve created a very specific persona.

Alessa: Thank you.

I’ve learned that a lot of the psychology behind sex is wording.

It’s not necessarily about having the best body or the biggest boobs.

It’s about how you present yourself and how you make people feel.

Gary Gabagool: Exactly.

Everybody on Chaturbate, Stripchat, OnlyFans, and all the other platforms has something going for them physically.

But what about personality?

Not everybody has that.

Alessa: Exactly.

You can’t just sit there and show your body.

There’s psychology behind everything.

You’re trying to create an experience.

Gary Gabagool: That’s why camming isn’t something you can just jump into and automatically succeed at.

You have to work at it.

Alessa: One thing I wish I had understood earlier is how important the “new” badge or new-model period can be.

When I started, I didn’t even know what it was.

I just needed money and a roof over my head.

I wasn’t thinking about rankings or strategy.

I just went online and did whatever I did.

Now I wish I could go back and start fresh on some platforms.

Gary Gabagool: Why can’t you?

Alessa: Some platforms won’t let you.

I tried with CamSoda, and they wouldn’t let me restart the account.

Gary Gabagool: Who the fuck made that rule?

Alessa: I don’t know.

Gary Gabagool: You should be able to start over.

Alessa: Exactly.

That’s one of my biggest pieces of advice now:

Take advantage of that new-model period.

Even if you’re not going to cam full-time, pick a consistent day and time and make sure your audience knows when you’re going to be there.

If you can’t make it, communicate that.

Technology and Social Media

Gary Gabagool: You’re not really a technology person, are you?

Alessa: No.

I don’t even have personal social media.

I just got a computer because of this.

Before camming, I was constantly attached to technology for work.

I always had a phone and computer, and my boss could find me anywhere in the world.

Then my fiancé passed away unexpectedly.

I basically said, “Fuck the world. Don’t ask me for anything.”

I didn’t want to deal with all the fake stuff online.

I eventually made one social media account because there was a big thing that happened and I realized I needed to know what was going on.

But I don’t really enjoy social media.

I don’t believe half the stuff I see online.

Gary Gabagool: What do you mean?

Alessa: Just the fake stuff.

People present their lives one way online, and then reality is completely different.

I’m not interested in that.

Building a Simple Website

Gary Gabagool: But you’ve built your own website.

Alessa: Yeah.

I made it all through Canva.

Gary Gabagool: That’s actually impressive.

Alessa: I’ve gotten a few warnings because I’m not always good at keeping things PG.

Gary Gabagool: Your website is simple, though.

And that’s exactly what you need.

You don’t need some giant complicated website.

You need a place where someone can type your name, find you, learn a little about you, and then find your links.

Alessa: Exactly.

That’s what I wanted.

I also wrote my own description.

Gary Gabagool: Your bio is really good.

I realized that the words matter.

It’s about creating a feeling.

It’s not just “I’m hot.”

It’s about giving someone a reason to want to know more about you.

That’s something other cam girls should pay attention to.

The words you use are important.

If everybody has a nice body, what makes you different?

Your personality.

Your writing.

Your approach.

Your ability to create a fantasy.
